Catherine Pritchard, matrescence coach
About

The coach for the part of motherhood no one warned you about.

I'm Catherine Pritchard — mum to two boys, matrescence educator and coach, former maths teacher and over 10 years as a business analyst for corporates. I help mums who feel like they're just going through the motions of motherhood figure out what they actually want and need, so they can feel like themselves in this version of life, and work with the organisations who want to genuinely support them.

There is no other job you're expected to be the expert in with no training and no support. Matrescence — the developmental transition from woman to mother — affects every part of you: emotional, psychological, physical, hormonal, financial, spiritual. It deserves to be acknowledged, you deserve support.

My mission is for matrescence to be as well known as adolescence, so that no mother feels alone in the becoming. I'm Mama Rising trained, with backgrounds in pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing and NLP — and I bring all of it to the table.

Real, not rosy

No bounce-back culture, no toxic positivity. Honest conversations about what motherhood actually asks of you.

Grounded in evidence

Drawing on Mama Rising, NLP, yoga and hypnobirthing — with the language and frameworks to make sense of what you're feeling.

You, still in there

We won't try to find the woman you were before. We'll meet the woman you're becoming, and figure out what she actually wants.

Services

Two ways to work together. One shared belief: mothers deserve to be seen.

Whether you're a mother seeking your own ground again, or an organisation ready to retain and support the mothers in your workforce — there is a way I can help.

Matrescence at Work

Around 250,000 mothers have left UK jobs because of the difficulty of balancing work and childcare. Replacing one employee costs up to £12,000. When workplaces understand matrescence, they stop asking "what's wrong with her?" and start asking "what does she need?"

  • 90-min keynote with Q&A or 3–4 hour interactive workshop
  • Customisable for HR teams, leadership or whole departments
  • Tools for managers to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy
  • Optional add-on: 1:1 or group coaching for returning mothers
  • Delivered virtually or in-person across the UK

Kind words

What clients are saying.

A few words from the mothers, managers and teams I've had the privilege of working with.

The webinar exceeded my expectations and provided real value. I would highly recommend it to help others to expand their knowledge on a subject I was unaware of and will now look out for to provide better understanding of matrescence and support where I can.

Catherine has been a great mentor, very easy to talk to with an open ear and open heart. She is very understanding, giving inspiration and space for you to reflect and understand your own journey.
